Description
Like most other ficus types, the elastica prefer medium-bright, but indirect light, and to significantly dry between watering. Avoid splashing water onto the foliage if you do not have adequate airflow because the standing water can cause fungal issues in the future. Place in well-draining, well-aerated media and never allow the runoff water to sit in the sauce and cause "wet feet" which could lead to root rot. Periodically clean your foliage as dust and other material will clog the leaves and prevent good respiration, leading to a slow-growing and unhappy plant.
