Description
Dracaena, originating from the Greek word drakaina, “female dragon,” is known for its red gum-like stem. Originally used in toothpaste, dyes, and medicines, the dracaena has evolved into a common houseplant. Grown indoors, dracaena can reach heights of 3’ with glossy leaves, and are capable of thriving and adapting to many lighting conditions, though do best in medium, indirect light. Growing indoors or in a partially shaded outdoors area, dracaena make excellent houseplants. This particular variety is known for its red-edge and purplish-red banded leaves.
