The sansevieria, now reclassified as a dracaena, is an ornamental, succulent-like, plant that grows upwards. Often called “snake plants” these do best by drying out and being ignored. They are a fan-favorite because they are capable of adjusting to many light conditions, and can handle missing a watering or two. It’s important to have quick-draining media to prevent any standing water that can lead to root rot and damage. According to NASA, these are one of the best plants to add to your collection.
